NESA Inspection

RGS passed its recent NESA inspection. Each time a new year group is added, a NESA inspection follows. This year NESA inspected our Year 5 documentation and completed a site inspection. They finished with a recommendation to the minister that we be approved for Year 5 and they accepted our application for Year 6 next year.

All schools are on a 5-year inspection cycle. 2026 will see the cycle being completed and a whole-school inspection happening alongside the inaugural Year 6 visit.

Kindy for a Day

We had our first Kindy for a Day in Term 2. We enjoyed visits from 11 potential students. There were other families who were not able to attend on the day. If you are considering enrolling your child in Kindergarten in 2026, please make contact. We would love to talk about what our school has to offer and invite you in for a visit.

Parent / Teacher Interviews

The end of Term 1 saw parents and carers being invited to school to participate in parent/teacher interviews. There were only a few parents who could not make the date. If you missed out, and you would like to make an appointment with your teacher, please contact our office.

NAPLAN

Preliminary NAPLAN results have been released. While they are general in nature, we are pleased with our student results. NAPAN should be seen as a snapshot of student progress in literacy and numeracy, not as a complete assessment of their value as human beings. NAPAN does not assess compassion, empathy, social skills or maturity. While our school values the data from NAPLAN, it also values much, much more that it assesses.

Musica Viva

We had the pleasure of Music in my Suitcase visiting us as part of the Musica Viva program. Students enjoyed participating in lessons during class time in the lead up to the visit and were able to engage and participate in the performance. We also welcomed students from Brook Christian School for the event.

Goodbye

My time at RGS is soon to come to an end. I was employed for Term 1 and 2 on a fixed-term contract while Mrs Stanford was on leave. I have loved my time at RGS and will leave with a treasure trove of memories. Mrs Stanford will resume her role as principal at the beginning of Term 3.
